Interior Renovation and Modernization of the Office of Cable Television HQ

The Department of General Services (“Department”) is issuing this request for Proposals (RFP) to engage a contractor to provide all but not limited to labor, materials, supervision and other services necessary to complete the renovation and modernization of 1899 9th Street, NE, Washington, DC to serve as the new headquarters for the Office of Cable Television (OCT). The existing structure is approximately 29,234 square feet, 36 feet in height and was once used as a studio for Black Entertainment Television (BET). As part of the effort of the District government to move agencies from lease facilities to owned facilities, this structure was purchased for the Office of Cable Television.  Prior to purchase, the structure vacant for approximately ten years. This facility will serve as launch pad for OCT’s conversion from an analog system to a completely digital system. This project has been designed to meet, and must achieve a minimum of LEED-Silver certification.
