Donnel Daniels, Supervisor of Human Resources

Sergeant Major Donnel Daniels was born in Durham, North Carolina, in April 1966. After graduating from Ferguson High School in Newport News, Virginia, in June 1984, he enlisted into the Army as a Wheeled Vehicle Repairer (63W).

In June 2004, SGM Daniels graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Marketing. Currently, SGM Daniels is pursuing his Masters of Business Administration-Human Resource Management. His military education includes Basic Combat Training, Wheel Vehicle Repairer Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Basic Recruiter Course, Station Commander Course, Guidance Counselor Course, Recruiter Trainer Course, Equal Opportunity Management Course, USAREC and DA First Sergeants Course, the Sergeants Major Academy, Class 55 and the Brigade and Battalion Pre-Command Course.

SGM Daniels’ first assignment was with the 101st Support Battalion as a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. He later became the 101st Support Battalion’s Reenlistment Noncommissioned Officer.

SGM Daniels began his recruiting career in August 1990 as a detailed recruiter in the Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion’s Grand River East Recruiting Station. While assigned to the Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion his duty assignments included Limited Production Station Commander in the Rosedale Park Recruiting Station, Guidance Counselor in the Detroit Military Entrance Processing Station, Limited Production Station Commander in the Detroit Metro Recruiting Station, First Sergeant for the Mt Clemens Recruiting Company, and First Sergeant for the Dearborn Recruiting Company. After serving 10 years in the Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion, Sergeant Major Daniels joined the Tampa Recruiting Battalion as the First Sergeant for Sarasota Recruiting Company and later became the Battalion Master Trainer. He served as Command Sergeant Major of the Jackson (MS) Recruiting Battalion, Command Sergeant Major of the Jacksonville (FL) Recruiting Battalion, Command Sergeant Major of the US Army 2d Recruiting Brigade and Command Sergeant Major for the US Army Accessions Support Brigade. SGM Daniels served as the First Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Director, US Army Marketing and Research Group from August 2014 to May 2016.

SGM Daniels’ awards include the Legion of Merit (2nd OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (6th OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3rd OLC), Army Achievement Medal (8th OLC), Good Conduct Medal (10th Award), National Defense Service Medal, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. SGM Daniels has been awarded the US Army Recruiting Medallion and has earned the Glen E. Morrell Award for Recruiting Excellence, the Recruiter Ring, and Recruiter Gold Badge.

SGM Daniels has four daughters, Geneva, Britney, Whitney, and Danyell.
