Project Overview
The Van Ness Early Education Center is located in Southeast Washington, DC in an area known as the Navy Yard. The elementary school opened in 1956.
Over the past nine years the Van Ness building has housed DC Public Schools (DCPS) staff in a variety of offices within the Office of Specialized Instruction (Related Services, Early Childhood Education, Assistive Technology) and Office of Programs and Grants. The DGS modernization project is designed to reopen Van Ness initially as an early learning center.
