The Department of General Services (the "Department" or "DGS"), on behalf of the District of Columbia (the "District"), is issuing this request for proposals ("RFP") from qualified applicants to create and maintain an urban farm in the District of Columbia.
“The Department of General Services (the "Department" or "DGS"), on behalf of the District of Columbia (the "District"), is issuing an extension of the period during which we will accept submissions to the request for proposals, DGS-Urban Farming RFP-2018-03. We need to receive proposals at the earliest opportunity, however this solicitation will remain open until we have received qualified urban farming applications for each site and entered into lease agreements with successful proposers.”
DGS has concluded it’s round one evaluation of farming proposals and is in the process of drafting the leases for the initial farming sites in ward 4 and 5. Additionally, DGS in partnership with the Department of Transportation has added a new site to the Urban Farming Program in Ward 4. Site 2, the triangle park, once tentatively awarded by DGS will require additional coordination and approval from the District’s Department of Transportation.
