Emergency and Safety Alliance

ESA and the District

The Emergency and Safety Alliance (ESA) was formed as an interagency team to plan, implement, manage and sustain emergency response planning at the individual building level in the District of Columbia.

Partnership and collaboration are essential components of the emergency planning effort, which includes:

  • Interagency Networking and Communications
  • Procedure Review and Annual Guide Updates
  • Incident Debriefings
  • Identifying and/or Creating Resources to Address Specific Needs
  • Assisting Sites with Specific Planning Issues
  • Special Needs Populations
  • Open Space Configurations
  • Individual Building Emergency Plan Review
  • Web-based Application Administration
  • REMS Steering Committee

ESA and DC Public Schools

As a District interagency team the Emergency and Safety Alliance (ESA) establishes the foundation for support, training, and tools needed by DC school administrators to develop customized school-level Emergency Response Plans by:

  • Assisting Sites with Specific Planning Issues
  • Identifying and/or Creating Resources to Address Specific Needs
  • Incident Debriefings
  • Procedure Development and Review; including Guide Updates
  • Interagency Networking and Communications
