Municipal Facilities

The District is committed to achieving success by delivering capital construction projects on-time and on-budget. The following projects are currently being performed by the Department of General Services (DGS).

Americans with Disabilities Act Renovations
This project encompasses ADA compliance surveys, design, building renovation and signage at various District facilities.
DC_Jail_tn.jpg Department of Corrections Projects
This project includes the renovation of numerous aspects of the District’s jail. They range from mechanical and electrical upgrades, security and life safety upgrades, to reconfigurations and expansions.
Homeless Shelter Renovations
This project includes the renovation of numerous District shelters.
OJS_tn.jpg Office of Administrative Hearings Build-Out
This project involves the interior renovation of 35,000 square feet of office space for the Office of Administrative Hearings.
School Repurposing Program
The District has designated certain schools to be reused by District agencies in order to streamline its portfolio of owned and leased space and to leverage existing assets to the benefit of the residents of the District.
Skyland Demolition
The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development is leading the efforts of the Skyland project. The execution of the construction scope of work will be managed by the Department of General Services, includes Abatement, Demolition, Site Stabilization and repair of the Skyland Shopping Center buildings.
St. Elizabeth's Gateway Pavillion
The Gateway Pavilion is an innovative, flexible, and unique structure designed to serve a wide range of interim uses and allow neighborhood residents and others to experience St Elizabeths East before redevelopment is complete. I
