Sole Source Procurement - Citywide Screening Device Lease, Relocation, Maintenance & Repair Services

The District of Columbia requires continued maintenance, technical support, and relocation services for the Rapiscan x-ray units and magnetometers screening devices currently installed at multiple locations citywide. These units are rented directly from Rapiscan Systems, which is also the sole manufacturer and owner of the proprietary hardware, software, diagnostics, and configuration tools necessary to service the equipment. As a result, only Rapiscan is authorized and technically capable of performing maintenance, repairs, calibration, and relocation of the devices.
