Emergency Procurement - Emergency Firewatch Services at Francis L. Cardozo Education Campus

The Department of General Services (DGS) has an immediate and compelling need to secure the services of DC Life Safety, LLC to provide emergency fire watch services at Francis L. Cardozo Education Campus following the findings of the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (FEMS) regarding the condition of the school’s fire pump. The fire pump is a critical component of the building’s life safety infrastructure, ensuring adequate water pressure for the sprinkler system during a fire emergency.

Throughout 2025, DGS projects earned awards honoring excellence in construction, sustainability, design, engineering, and community impact.

Topic: In summary, the first topic of this hearing will be the maintenance of DPR’s indoor and outdoor portfolio. Second, this hearing will examine issues related to the topic of the construction of recreational facilities. Relatedly, this hearing will consider B26-0161, the Planning Actively for Recreational upKeep so Neighborhood Resources Elevate Communities (PARKSNREC) Amendment Act of 2025. This hearing’s final topic will be environmentalism. As related to construction, the hearing will focus on the District’s green building laws, particularly the Greener Government Buildings Act.
