Many events take place every day at District facilities, for both indoor and outdoor activities. Are you planning a meeting, practice, game, or event and need a great location to host the community? Look no further!
The following instructions provide an overview of what to know before you apply, the application process, and more when applying for a permit to request usage of a DC Public Schools (DCPS) and/or a Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) facility.
First, please read the following steps for the new, fully online process for DCPS facility reservation requests.
This is the updated Building Use Application (BUA), now available as a fillable PDF form for immediate use. This long-awaited enhancement streamlines the application process and supports greater efficiency, accountability, and customer service. The fillable format makes it easier for users to complete, submit, and track requests while improving overall accuracy and processing time.
Please find the DCPS Application to Use Facilities PDF Form here.
New Online Payments for DCPS Use Agreement Applications
The Department of General Services (DGS) Realty Office now accepts electronic payments for all DC Public Schools (DCPS) Use Agreement application fees. Applicants can remit payments securely through RecTrac—the same online portal used by the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). This is now the preferred payment platform, offering a faster and more streamlined way to pay rental, security, and janitorial fees.

How to Create a RecTrac Account
To create a new "Household" RecTrac account, visit this link and complete the information. A "Household" can be an individual, or organization. Minors should be included in the household of their caregivers, and each resident (including minors) should have only one RecTrac account.
Note that you must upload insurance certificate deemed compliant by DC Office of Risk Management (ORM), current business license, and residency documents to your RecTrac account to confirm your DC residency if you wish to receive the DC resident rates and program registration opportunities. To upload documents and verify your DC residency, simply follow these steps:
Login to your RecTrac account here or, if you do not have an account, create one here.
Verify your DC residency by clicking here to log into your webtrac account. Once logged in, fill out the DC Residency Verification form, upload the required document(s), and click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
Once you receive confirmation from the Registration Office, you will be able to make payments and submit permit reservation requests on our launch date.
