Anacostia High School is one of several DC Public High Schools in which the Department of General Services (DGS) completed significant renovations to the existing school facility. Renovations to the school were completed in two (2) phases; with Phase one (1) being was completed in 2011.
Phase 2 renovations included enhancements such a fully refurbished auditorium equipped with modern theater technologies and 5,600 SF of nearby practice space for the performing arts (Band, Chorus, and Theatre), cafeteria renovation with new skylights, a state of the art Media Center/Library, a Media Production lab with 18 new computers and a new Parent Resource Center, Childcare Center, and Health/Dental Suite to provide services to the community as well as the students. With the completion of Phase 1 and 2 renovations Anacostia school will be a fully ADA compliant Silver Leed Certified Facility.
