The District of Columbia Department of General Services on behalf of the District Department of Parks and Recreation is issuing this Request for Proposals from offerors (“Offeror(s)”) to engage a design firm to serve as the Architect/Engineer (the “A/E”) for a full range of architectural and engineering services associated with the modernization of Stead Park Recreation Center. The existing park and facility are located in Ward 2 at 1625 P Street NW. The purpose of this RFP is to determine which Offeror will be awarded the Architectural Engineering design contract for the Project.

The Project’s scope of work in general, the selected Architect will be required to provide a full range of architectural and engineering services necessary to determine the most feasible plan of action for the facility to meet the Department’s programmatic requirements. Determination should be made prior to commencement of design activities whether additions or renovations to the facility can be built while the existing facility remains operational or if recreational services will need to be transferred to an alternate location during construction.
