RFK SPORTSPLEX AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
OVERVIEW:
The District of Columbia, through the Department of General Services (DGS), the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), the Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the RFK Redevelopment Project Management Office (PMO) in alignment with the Mayor’s commitment to equitable, world-class public infrastructure, is undertaking the design and construction of a new infrastructure and roadways on the RFK Campus. The new roadway network with accompanying infrastructure, will serve the new Washington Commanders Stadium, the Sportsplex, two parking garages, and several mixed-use developments.

PROJECT DETAILS:
The Infrastructure and Roadway Construction represents a long-term infrastructure and economic development initiative that will modernize transportation systems, reconnect neighborhoods, improve public access, and stimulate regional growth along the Anacostia River Corridor. DGS will be soliciting and awarding the construction in multiple phases. Each phase will be aligned with the construction delivery schedule of the new stadium. All roadways and infrastructure will be complete by 2030.

HILL EAST PHASE II 72" STORM WATER RELOCATION
OVERVIEW:
The Hill East Phase II project encompasses the relocation of a critical 72-inch combined sewer line, along with related infrastructure improvements, to accommodate the planned redevelopment of the Hill East site—formerly part of the District of Columbia General Hospital campus. This relocation is essential to support future mixed-use development while maintaining uninterrupted service of the city's sanitary and stormwater conveyance system.

OVERVIEW:
Pepco and primary utility services from Benning Road via 22nd Street, NE, including the roadway plans and services to the west side of the stadium, to ensure permanent power to the Commanders Stadium.

THE RFK SPORTSPLEX
The District of Columbia, through the Department of General Services (DGS) and the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), in alignment with the Mayor’s commitment to equitable, world-class public infrastructure, is undertaking the design and construction of a new RFK Sportsplex. This facility will serve as a regional anchor for competitive athletics, community wellness, and youth development, setting a new benchmark for sports and recreation in the District.
PROJECT DETAILS:
The RFK Sportsplex is being designed as a state-of-the-art indoor sports and recreation facility that will support training, tournaments, clubs, competitions, wellness programming, and special events. The 225,000-square-foot facility is planned to serve as a premier destination for athletics. The project is part of the broader RFK Master Plan and is being actively coordinated with the Commanders stadium and campus redevelopment through shared design and infrastructure planning.
