The District of Columbia Department of General Services on behalf of the District Department of Parks and Recreation is issuing this Request for Proposals from offerors (“Offeror(s)”) to engage a design firm to serve as the Architect/Engineer (the “A/E”) for site improvements to the parcel located at 19th and Lamont Streets, NW. The purpose of this RFP is to determine which Offeror will be awarded the Architectural Engineering design contract for the Project.
The Project’s scope of work in general, the selected Architect will be required to provide a full range of architectural and engineering services necessary to determine the most feasible plan of action for the facility to meet the Department’s programmatic requirements. The site is situated directly north of the apartments located at 1900 Lamont Street, NW. It is lightly grassed and eroding actively, thus causing undue problems for the surrounding stormwater system. There are mature trees on the site, including some requiring an evaluation to determine if they are viable or should be removed. The site is approximately 7,000 SF in area and is steeply sloped from the high point in the east to the low elevation in the western direction. There is an adjoining fence that separates the property to the north from the project site.
