Douglass Community Center

Project Overview

The District of Columbia Department of General Services in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation will work with the community to design and construction renovations to stabilize the existing Douglass Recreation Center The recreation center renovation will include: a large multi-purpose space; increased storage; classroom; Computer Lab; expansion as necessary of Men’s and Women’s restrooms; a prepping and warming kitchen; maintenance and utilities rooms; and ADA accessibility upgrades. Site improvements will include: Paving rear access driveway off 20th Street SE; basketball court improvements; landscaping; hardscaping; benches and rework of existing bicycle/walking path section.
