Project Description:
The project consists of the abatement and demolition of the existing Benning Road Transfer Station (BRTS) in addition to the removal of all wet and dry utilities, foundation, and other existing infrastructure to support the development of the new transfer station to serve the District residents. The demolition of the existing BRT includes removing the current building and related, on-site ancillary structures to make way for a newly constructed waste transfer station facility. As part of this project, residual municipal solid waste and hazardous materials will be properly handled or abated in compliance with municipal and national standards.
