The Department of General Services ("DGS" or "Department") is seeking to engage a Design Builder to design, procure, and install a backup generator, uninterrupted power supply, and all related systems, including the design and construction of required modifications to building interior, roof elements, office suites, and connections inside the building at 200 I Street, SE, Washington, DC, 20003 (the "Building") for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). This building is the location of OCTO's Network Operations Center (NOC) and it requires a backup generator in order for the NOC to operate at full capacity in case of a loss of building power. The generator is expected to generate approximately 750 kilowatts, be continuously gas fed and be located on the roof. Significant structural reinforcement will be needed to support the generator, in addition to modifications to the Building's green roof. In addition to the NOC mentioned above, the generator must also provide power to the first-floor Main Distribution Framework ("MDF") and the OCTO-Help Desk Call Center (collectively, the "Generator System").
