The District of Columbia Department of General Services is issuing this Request for Proposals to engage a contractor to provide construction services for the renovation of the historical Park View Field House. The Field House is located at the Park View Recreation Center, 696 Otis Place, NW, Washington, DC 20010. The Field House was constructed in 1932 and is a one and a half story Colonial Revival style building. The Field House was renovated in 1999, and certain of the historic features of the building were affected, including the enclosing of the front porch.

The Department has commissioned a set of construction documents for the renovation of the Field House, a copy of which are attached hereto as Attachment A (the “Drawings and Specifications”). In general, the work includes reconstructing certain historical features of the field house as well as replacing the existing mechanical system and installing new finishes throughout. Select site improvements are also contemplated. Through this solicitation, the Department seeks to engage a contractor to construct the improvements set forth in the Drawings and Specifications no later than May 18, 2015. As part of the Department’s Small Business Initiative, this solicitation is being set aside for bidding only by Offerors that are certified by the District of Columbia Department of Small and Local Business Development as Small Business Enterprises.
