Chuck Brown Music Memorial

Chuck Brown, Washington DC’s “Godfather of Go-Go,” will be remembered with a new performing arts venue named in his honor in Langdon Park, Washington DC. The Memorial will serve as a communal space for visitors to celebrate and embrace his musical influence. It will be designed as an outdoor, open-air performance venue. Reminiscent of Roman structures, the venue will take the shape of an amphitheater with a semi-circular theatre space defined by rows of magnolia and cherry blossom trees to create a sense of intimacy. The amphitheater is designed to accommodate an audience of over 900-seated spectators, who will each have a direct, unobstructed view of the elevated stage.

Please Note: The renderings are as of January 10, 2013, and are subject to change as the project progresses.
