Hillcrest Indoor Aquatic Center

Hillcrest Indoor Aquatic Center

Project Overview:

Originally envisioned as a standalone aquatic center, the project has evolved into an indoor pool addition to the existing Hillcrest Recreation Center. This revised approach strategically leverages existing infrastructure, reduces site development costs, and aligns with both budget constraints and community priorities. To meet the district’s new Net Zero energy regulation, the design now incorporates Geothermal Wells—a sustainable solution that supports long-term operational efficiency and environmental performance.

Schedule adjustment

The original substantial completion target of Fall 2026 has been revised to Spring 2028. Delays stemming from value engineering (VE) exercises, revised pricing submissions, and funding constraints for the Geothermal Well system to fulfill Net Zero regulations have collectively pushed the schedule nearly 16 months beyond the original contract milestone. Based on the current scope direction, the new substantial completion is now projected for Spring 2028.
