DCFD Fleet Maintenance Facility New Construction

Project Overview:

This project is to support DC Fire Emergency Medical Service (FEMS) and Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). This project construction activities will happen in multiple phases. The project is located at 6 DC village lane and is approximately 455,000 sqft and consists of the following:

1. FEMS Fleet Maintenance Facility
2. FEMS Ready Reserve Building
3. FEMS Logistics Building
4. OSSE Administrative Building
5. OSSE Bus Parking Structure & Fueling Station

The OSSE buildings will provide shelter to OSSE buses, electric charging station and area for basic vehicle maintenance. the OSSE administrative building will provide new office space for OSSE southwest terminal employees.

The FEMS Fleet Maintenance Facility and FEMS Logistics Buildings will provide the capacity to perform the mandated preventative maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and other vehicle upgrades required to support the mission of DC FEMS to the public. In addition, this project will allow FEMS to establish a new FEMS Ready Reserve Facility. This facility will allow FEMS to store enough ready vehicles on a standby status to replace in-operable vehicles to return to active duty.
