Please join DGS in congratulating Edward “Pete” Pearson, Electrical Worker with the Facilities Division at Adams Place, for going above and beyond and earning the designation of Employee of the Month for May 2015!
Pete is a very knowledgeable within the electrical shop where he’s worked for almost a decade. He is very instrumental with providing his expert electrical skills for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Fire & Emergency Medical Services (FEMS) and the District’s Recreation Centers. His day may start before the 7am call of duty with responding to overnight power outages that occur, providing assistance with electrical repairs needed and troubleshooting power loss throughout District government buildings. Also, he performs as an equipment operator where he works on high range bucket trucks that require operation of indoor and outdoor man lifts.
Pete is one of the main electrical workers called upon because of his “no fear, unafraid of heights” attitude in order to work on high building lights that stretch as highs as 40-50 feet in the air.
Most recently Mayor Muriel Bowser, Council and DGS Deputy Director for Facilities Management Spencer Davis walked through a number of buildings operated by DGS and Pete assisted with on-the-spot repairs needing immediate attention.
His untiring work ethics and willingness to go the extra mile makes him an asset and team player. His co-workers really appreciate his upbeat attitude and helpful disposition.
Pete’s actions speak volumes of DGS core principles. He provides extraordinary, innovative and creative customer service while accomplishing his regular responsibilities and going beyond the call of duty.
Congratulations Mr. Pearson for your hard work and thank you for the extra effort!!
