Please join in congratulating Sergeant Marion Foster with the Protective Services Division (PSD) for earning the designation of Employee of the Month for February 2015. She was nominated by her peers for her continual positive impact on her coworkers by demonstrating a willingness to go above and beyond in her daily actions. 

Sergeant Foster been a part of the Department of General Services (DGS) team for eight years and consistently demonstrates a dedication to professionalism.  She is currently a PSD training liaison officer and one of two firearms instructors within PSD.  In addition to ensuring all of the officers qualify annually with their assigned weapon, Sergeant Foster is the senior uniformed training officer that is responsible for instructing and making certain all newly hired officers are fully qualified to assume the vital responsibilities of securing DGS managed, owned and leased District facilities and properties, as well as enforcing District laws on those properties. She is also certified as a CPR/ First Aid Instructor and assists with the annual training of our officers in these important skills.

Further, Sergeant Foster has held numerous titles and responsibilities including, Shift Watch Commander, Desk Sergeant, Mobile Patrol Supervisor and Officer-in-Charge of the District of Columbia National Guard detail. Sergeant Foster has always taken her role seriously and is passionate about her results and the mission and vision for the agency. She is at her best in a team environment and is proactive at getting the full involvement of her colleagues to derive the best results possible. 

Sergeant Foster’s actions speak volumes to her belief in DGS core principles to provide extraordinary customer service and innovation while accomplishing her regular responsibilities. Her work is a great example of going the extra mile and an indication of the high quality and professional staff within DGS.
