The Department of General Services (DGS) is committed to providing safe, high-quality services, including maintenance and repairs within District government-owned properties, including DC Public Schools. Regular maintenance helps provide and support healthy and safe environments for all users of these facilities. At the present time, the DGS Public Work Order Dashboard has been upgraded to track performed service work needed and completed for DC Public School facilities. The expansion of this reporting tool includes work orders beyond heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and meets an additional milestone for the agency to continue providing accountability, providing parents and school communities with a new level of transparency, while providing information on anticipated timeframes on when repairs will be completed.
Data includes open work order numbers broken down by school, descriptions of the repair need and includes HVAC inspection dates. The DGS Public Work Order Dashboard is updated on business days on a weekly basis. In the future, the dashboard will include live temperature readings for DCPS facilities and will include facilities operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). DGS will continue to perfect the dashboard and will share progress with District communities.
The upgraded DGS Dashboard has several components for DCPS facilities:
- Work Order Detail
- Assets (Most Recent Inspection)
- Completed Work Order Count
- Open Work Orders and Priority Status
- Work Order Trends
DCPS buildings are equipped with indoor air quality (IAQ) sensors that are continuously monitoring air quality in our schools. To view our protocols and indoor air quality report click here.
