Project Status:

The Department of General Services (DGS) wants to inform you of a recent development that impacts the schedule for planned Garfield Park improvements. We made the decision to terminate contracts with Broughton Construction Company after careful assessment of their performance. We understand this has caused the Garfield Park project to be delayed and have been working diligently on an alternative solution to minimize project disruption.

We are pleased to inform the community that we have since brought on a new design-build team who is working diligently to deliver this park improvement project as swiftly as possible. The design-build team has submitted permit drawings to the Department of Buildings (DOB) and is anticipating a construction start date of Summer 2024.

Thank you for your support and cooperation. Please contact Lawrence Davin[email protected] with any questions, or visit https://dgs.dc.gov/page/garfield-park-and-playground-improvements for further updates.
