Project Status:

The Department of General Services (DGS) wants to inform you of a recent development that will impact planned Garfield Park improvements. We have made the decision to terminate contracts with Broughton Construction Company after careful assessment of their performance. We understand this will cause the Garfield Park project to be delayed; however, our priority remains delivering the highest quality facilities which serve the public’s needs across the District. We are working diligently to explore alternative solutions and minimize disruptions caused by this change as we move toward beginning construction in Winter 2024. Our team is committed to keeping you informed about the progress of this project, as well as the steps we are taking to minimize delays and deliver this park improvement project as swiftly as possible.

Thank you for your support and cooperation. Please contact Wayne Gore, [email protected], with any questions, or visit for further updates.
