Sole Source Procurement - Heavy Equipment Snow & Ice Removal Plowing Services - Sat, Oct 31 2026, All day
The Department of General Services (the “Department” or “DGS”) has an immediate operational need for JJ Prime Services, LLC (the “Contractor”) to provide specialized heavy‑equipment snow and ice removal services to ensure safe, passable conditions at District‑owned and operated facilities during winter weather events. The Contractor must perform mechanical snow and ice plowing using front‑end loaders, skid steers, compact track loaders, and similar equipment to maintain parking lots, access roads, loading areas, drive lanes, sidewalks, pedestrian pathways, ramps, and other critical areas. The Contractor shall also provide on‑site snow relocation, stockpiling, and off‑site hauling when required, and apply deicing materials when authorized by DGS.

DGS Announces The 2016 DCPS Recycles! Honor Roll In Celebration Of Earth Day

(Washington, D.C.) — The Department of General Services (DGS) announced today, Earth Day (April 22), the recipients of the DCPS Recycles! Honor Roll 2016. The 47 DCPS schools honored today have shown enthusiasm for, and excellence in, recycling.
“When it comes to recycling education, actions speak louder than words.” said Christopher Weaver, DGS Director. “In these schools, students are learning behaviors that are consistent with the knowledge and skills needed to be civic leaders in a sustainable 21st century.”
Readout on District Activity in Response to Attacks in Paris

(Washington, DC) – Mayor Bowser has been briefed by Chief Lanier and senior District officials on the attacks in Paris. Chief Lanier has been in regular communication with federal and regional law enforcement officials since the attacks began.
Out of an abundance of caution, the District has deployed additional law enforcement resources to French-owned sites and other high-profile locations. There is no imminent threat to the District and MPD will continue to work with partners and monitor the situation closely.
