For the past twelve years, Wanda Jones has been delivering great value and guidance to District Government client agencies regarding financial resources and advice to agency senior and executive management helping them plan ahead for short-term needs and long term goals. She is a very well organized individual, able to keep multiple priorities in mind while aiming for the best outcome. She specializes in financial management and customer service. With her strong attention to detail, she is able to recognize small financial inaccuracies. Wanda has helped to bring many positive changes to the agency; she has a passion for maintaining and organizing financial operations. She gives sound guidance on the financial resources of the agency’s day to day operations and projects, provides oversight of project activities, and develops progress reports and projections. She is absolutely dedicated to the financial wellbeing of those she works with, takes special care to ensure that she understands the needs of every single client agency, and closely monitors financial data in order to quickly inform client agencies and recommend corrective action where necessary. Prior to joining the Department of General Services (DGS), Wanda served 10 years at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) in the Government Operations Cluster (GOC) as an Accountant for 5 years and transitioned to the Budget department as a Financial Manager for another 5 years providing superior accounting and budget support to various complex District agencies including the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), and the Department of General Services (DGS).
