FY26 Budget Oversight Hearing – Government Testimony

Good afternoon, Councilmember Lewis George, fellow members of the Committee on Facilities and staff. I am Delano Hunter, Director of the Department of General Services. First, I would like to acknowledge the many dedicated public servants who are proud to work for DGS and their commitment to our shared mission of building, maintaining, and sustaining District-managed properties. I want to thank Mayor Muriel Bowser, City Administrator Kevin Donahue, and Assistant City Administrator Dr. Chris Rodriguez for their support in the agency’s mission with the FY26 Grow DC Budget. With this budget, we are focused on rightsizing spending and investing in our shared priorities.
