The Department has the need to continue contracted preventative maintenance of emergency response AED defibrillator equipment with Stryker (formerly Physio-Control) the original equipment manufacturer of all LIFEPAK defibrillators. The District of Columbia has standardized use of LIFEPAK defibrillators with 826 LIFEPAK units at DC Fire and EMS since 1994, 120 units at DC Parks and Recreation since 2008 and 45 units at Metro Police Department since 2001.
